Theoretical investigation of combining cooling tower and cooling coil with direct evaporative cooler

Abstract A theoretical study is developed to examine the feasibility of using cooling tower and coil with direct evaporative cooler in highest summer temperature Karbala/Iraq. This due inability reducing outside air efficiency reduction mechanical vapor compression systems despite its high electrical energy consumption at temperatures. The water cooled a higher than outdoor wet-bulb by (3.9 $$^\circ$$ ∘ C). then passes through where pre-cooled it, decreases (17 C) without an increase humidity. Then (10 humidity increases. leaving this combining system reduced (27 results showed that adequate comfort zone psychrometric chart. presented alone were unable reduce reach zone. similar observation noted cooler. Therefore, considered more effective alternative cooler, effectiveness reaches 100%. Additionally, it clean, environmentally friendly, efficient, does not add heat surrounding environment comparison systems.
